Only ONE Week remains- apply for the Lawmakers Internship!

ONLY ONE WEEK REMAINS UNTIL THE APPLICATION DEADLINE!

Georgia Public Broadcasting in Atlanta is recruiting interns for "Lawmakers," a GPB program covering the Georgia General Assembly. Interns must be available for assignment during January, February, March and April of 2009. Approximately 50 work dates are based on the schedule of the legislature. The location is downtown Atlanta at the State Capitol and adjacent facilities.

This program offers a compensated internship for college students or recent graduates interested in broadcasting, journalism, political science or video production.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to researching, writing, producing and editing stories for broadcast under daily deadline pressure; learning and performing nonlinear editing, robotic camera operation, graphic design and character generation, Teleprompter and other technical equipment, along with providing other support necessary to the production of a daily live half-hour television newscast.

Previous television experience is a plus, but not required. Applicants with previous internships are eligible. Successful candidates must be motivated, energetic and have the ability to work full-time and 5 days a week, including some long hours. This assignment includes weeknight evenings. This is an intense and exhilarating experience packed with opportunity.
